  • Back-to-Back MOA Signing for 2023 and 2024 FAPA Congress

Back-to-Back MOA Signing for 2023 and 2024 FAPA Congress

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – The Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) conducted a back-to-back Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing for the 2023 and 2024 FAPA Congress last November 8 and 12, 2022.

The decision of the FAPA Council to host 2 consecutive Congresses in 2023 and 2024 came as a result of the missed congress in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision to have a special congress has been met with excitement and anticipation from FAPA members and industry professionals alike.

The MOA signing for both congresses was held during the 28th FAPA Congress at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The MOA signing between FAPA and the Federation of Taiwan Pharmacists Associations (FTPA) was held last November 8th, while the MOA signing between FAPA and the Korea Pharmaceutical Association (KPA) was held last November 12th.

The 29th FAPA Congress will be held in Taipei, Taiwan on October 24 – 28, 2023, and will be hosted by FTPA. With the theme “Health systems resilience, security, and equity: Pharmacists can help”, this special congress will be an exciting opportunity to engage in important discussions on resilient health systems that can withstand the challenges of the times while discovering the rich culture and beautiful scenery of Taiwan.

The 30th congress, which coincides with FAPA’s 60th Anniversary celebration, will be held in 2024 in South Korea and will be hosted by KPA. More information will be released on this momentous event.

These congresses are important platforms for FAPA members to network, share knowledge, and discuss emerging trends and challenges in the pharmacy profession. This is particularly important given the increasing demand for affordable and accessible healthcare in the region.

In conclusion, the back-to-back MOA signing for the 2023 and 2024 FAPA congresses is a testament to FAPA’s commitment to promoting innovation, collaboration, and integration in the pharmacy profession in Asia. We look forward to seeing you in Taiwan in 2023 and in South Korea in 2024.

  • FAPA Welcomes a New Member Association

FAPA Welcomes Federation of Taiwan Pharmacists Association as New Member Association

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA  – The Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) has officially welcomed the Federation of Taiwan Pharmacists Associations (FTPA) as its newest member association. The decision was made during the Closed Council Meeting on November 8, 2022, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, where the council approved FTPA’s application.

FTPA was established in 1980 and is the largest pharmacist organization in Taiwan, with over 33,000 pharmacist members through local pharmacist associations. The organization is dedicated to promoting the professional development of pharmacists, improving healthcare service quality, and enhancing the public’s welfare.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, FTPA played an essential role in responding to the crisis. Through its network of over 8,000 community pharmacies, FTPA facilitated the rationing and delivery of facemasks, rapid antigen test kits, and medicines. The organization is also looking forward to providing more services for long-term care and pharmaceutical care in the future.

At the opening ceremony of the 28th FAPA Congress, FTPA was recognized and awarded a certificate of membership, officially welcoming them to the FAPA family. FAPA President, Dr. Yolanda Robles, handed FTPA President Mr. Chin-shun Huang a FAPA ribbon as a gesture of welcome.

The addition of FTPA to FAPA’s network is a significant milestone for the organization, as it strengthens its presence in Taiwan and the Asian pharmaceutical industry. FTPA will now have access to a broader network of pharmaceutical associations in Asia through FAPA, which will enable them to collaborate with other industry players, share best practices, and stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the industry.

With its extensive experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry in Taiwan, FTPA will be a valuable addition to FAPA’s network. The organization’s knowledge and expertise will help FAPA understand the challenges and opportunities facing the pharmaceutical industry in Taiwan and other parts of Asia.

In conclusion, the addition of FTPA to FAPA’s membership is a positive development for the pharmaceutical industry in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. The partnership between the two organizations will bring more collaboration and innovation in the industry, ultimately benefiting patients and healthcare providers across the region.
